INTERPRETING RICHARD NEUTRA

Palos Verdes Estates

The scope of this project was to design a 6,000 square foot home based on the concepts and ideas of the renowned architect’s, Richard Neutra, designs. The site is located in an upscale neighborhood south of Las Angeles, CA, on the edge of a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

This design focuses on several of Nuetra's key concepts: The separation of public and private spaces; The use of "spider legs" as a structural support; Using a three-plane composition to determine building form; A continues flow of nature from the outside in, through the use of large windows and building finishes.
